Having fun in Lagos can be a series of many things. You could do it as a group, with travelling communities, pairing you together with other interested travelers, you could also be your own compass and direct yourself through different places. Today, I will share my thoughts with you on how to have that solo fun time, things you should check out for in Lagos, how much you are likely to spend, and how to plan effectively, which include logistics and a place to crash if need be. \r\n\r\n\r\nHow Solo Can It Be?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n
Well, solo doesn\u2019t necessarily mean absence of people, right? I really don\u2019t think there is any place you can have that perfect alone time, except you want to be in a forest, or on a solitude mountain somewhere meditating, or probably an underground tour. All of these doesn\u2019t spell fun. Solo here means you alone, having fun with anything and everything possible. It means skating with a bunch of strangers, it means scooping that ice cream alone in a park with people with different ethics and doings, minding their own business. What I\u2019m saying is that, you have time to yourself, away from work, friends, families or calls from your suitors (as you please\u2026). Now that we\u2019ve come to an understanding, let\u2019s dive right into my suggestions.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

1. A walk through the markets:<\/p>\r\n

How much of cultural value do you embrace? Lagos is famous with markets like the Balogun and the ikotun market. It is a different world of arts, colors, people of different kinds, aroma\u2019s and local craftsmanship. If I were you, I\u2019ll book a ride, visit one of these markets, and have some fun. I know you\u2019re probably thinking right now, what fun is in a market? Well let me tell what you probably can do.<\/p>\r\n

- Try the price battle<\/strong>. I do this a lot. I go to a market when I\u2019m bored, I sight something of interest. Maybe a kiosk with hand rings and beads, I try to buy things at the lowest price I can. It is always fun and humorous when we have series of vendors side by side, selling the same thing. Everyone wants a customer, so they fight to sell to you. I use this to enjoy seeing how people can go the extra mile to sell to me. Also, as a strategist myself, I find pleasure in developing my negotiation skills. It is a whole level of fun.<\/li>\r\n
- Sampling of street foods<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 In popular markets like the Balogun market, you can eat from different vendors. You could have a taste of different foods, it is called \u201cSampling before buying\u201d. Some food enthusiast does this a lot to get recipe ideas. Trust me, these street guys would knock you into eating more with them. They have got skills in developing sumptuous and tasty meals. Eating by the street side is a life of its own. There is a different energy to it.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
There are many other things like having conversations with strangers, checking of art works, watching different dramas of advertisers, all of these are what you can experience with little.<\/p>\r\n
I would mention, as a part of fun, I suggest you make it a full trip, book a vehicle, and you can as well crash(i.e sleep) for the night within the vicinity before heading back home.
